'Line Bore' Timing Chain Sets

I have always wondered how you know if one will fit? Is there a centre to centre spec that dictates the use of a line bore set?

The hill Billy method is when you bolt on a new timing set and the chain is loose, if you know the engine has been built a few times then you can assume you need one or bolt another standard timing set on just to verify the first set was correct and not flawed and then go tighter set

Standard center distance of 5.044 The last Cloyes I used was advertised as 0.005 in Reduced Center Distance.
