Thats just the old tailpipe from the 332s single exhaust system, rest assured a dual exhaust system with at least 2 1/2" pipes will be installed before the car hits the road! You can see in the background, my buddy has a couple of rotiseries, (He mostly does 55,6,and 7 Chevs, which always seem to need major floor and body mount rust repair). Since my 59 will be a non show quality driver, and the floors were in excellent condition,, he left the body on the frame, and instead did the work on a "frame on" rotiserie, which attatches to the wheel studs. In these photos it is still on that rotiserie. The car can not spin 360 degrees, but it can go 90 degrees, so at least you are not having to weld overhead. Considering a 59 2 door sedan will never be a particularily valuable car, it just did not make any sense to spend 20 or 30 grand on a show quality, body off restoration paint job. I am hoping to have no more in the car than a new FWD sedan would cost. Time and poor book keeping will tell (roughly), how close I wind up to that goal.
