« on: May 07, 2021, 08:34:52 AM »
The fuel pump started to leak on my 1969 428 CJ Mustang, I am wondering if some one here sells  pumps, I search it here and didn't find any, thanks Leny.

Leny,
That Carter pump is rebuildable and several Mustang parts vendors have the kits . Virginia Classic Mustang , MAC's , NPD. Takes about an hour once it;s off the car. Very simple to repair.

Mine that is on the car is a press together one, so it should be a screw together one ?

Yes the original 428 CJ pumps were the bolt together/rebuildable high capacity carter pumps.

I do not recall the part number, but the pump I have on my 428CJ in my 59, is a Carter that looks identical to the factory CJ fuel pump, except that it has a threaded inlet port, whereas the factory Carter pumps used a pressed in tube. I bought my pump from Summit, and it works great.

You can swap out the lower portion with the pressed in tube on the new pump.
