I didn't know about this tool so I looked it up.  Sure looks like the difficult and complicated way to do this simple task, plus some gears are very tight on the shaft and I question if this thing would break them loose.  I use a separator and press like Brent.

This is probably more anecdotal than helpful, but I bought the Scat stroker kit from Barry as a balanced assembly.  Mahle pistons, H beam rods.  I was surprised to see that some Mallory had been added to the crank.

Why not Ohio Speed Shop in Dayton?  Ohio George's son Greg runs the place and I can't imagine they don't do good work there.

Setting up the distributor so it has less mechanical advance, allowing you to run more initial advance, will result in the engine running cooler at idle.  Just part of the equation though because I agree with Jay's post about radiator size and condition.

All of the oil goes through the cooler but there is a spring loaded bypass for pressure that is too high (for whatever reason).

If we are talking about what I call a "short nose" or "long nose" Autolite, my Sept. 1965 small block car has a short nose so the change was certainly earlier.
