FE Technical Forum / Re: Wideband A/F Tool
« on: February 20, 2023, 10:26:54 PM »
Hey Paul, Always nice to hear from someone you know.

To be honest, I have the handheld unit LM-1 but was thinking of getting a gauge to keep it a little more permanent. I used the handheld with bung in both pipes. However, switching back and forth was getting a little tiring for me so was thinking maybe getting a gauge would make things a little more enjoyable.

Since I change my distributor to Progression Ignition and got a better experience, this kind of sparked my interest again.

The handheld is nice because you can move it from car to car.

Thanks for the response.

Phil

I would like to know what everyone is using for A/F wideband on true dual exhaust?

I’m thinking of getting Innovative Dual wideband. Does anyone have any experience likes / dislikes?

Thanks

FE Technical Forum / FE 427 - timing curve
« on: February 20, 2023, 06:10:30 PM »
Hello all

I would like to know if anyone has a timing curved map that they would like to share. I am looking for drivability.

I have a Progression Ignition that so far I absolutely love. MSD missed the boat on this technology, on my 427 FE with 48 Weber carbs. Currently I have not hooked up the map sensor but plan on combining all the vacuum signals to route to the map sensor.

So far the car runs a lot stronger and is more predictable and definitely has street manners.

I’m not looking to debate, but I know this works for me. I’m just trying to see how much manners I can  teach this motor and still have the power that it has.

From here I can change the mapping to be more aggressive for better fuel or reduce the aggression with lower quality fuels.

I would love to hear some feedback on this topic or distributors.

Thanks
