FE Technical Forum / Total Control Products FE engine mounts
« on: August 17, 2026, 10:25:28 AM »
Has anyone installed TCP FE engine mounts in a 60's Mustang or any classic Ford and if so is the engine positioned about the same as stock?
Some say the engine sits lower.
Lower would be a problem for Hooker header clearance and mustang oil pan to crossmember clearance.
TCP tech claims exact as stock.
I realize some adjustment or shimming is probably required.

Thanks,
TonyS

FE Technical Forum / Stock type oil pans, Canton or Milodon
« on: May 25, 2026, 10:51:28 AM »
Are the stock type FE oil pans offered my Milodon and Canton essentially the same?
I believe they do offer better oil control than the factory FE oil pan. (past posts on the Fe Forum refer to this fact)
My vehicle is a stock 69 CJ Mustang.
Both pans require the use of  their specific oil pickup.
Which if any are better and should the windage tray be included?
Thanks,
TonyS

Non-FE Discussion Forum / large drum brake kits for 60's - 70's Fords
« on: April 29, 2026, 03:00:33 PM »
Has anyone installed one of the large rear drum brake kits as offered by Ford Racing and others on their classic fords with power brakes?  11 in x 2.25
I know most kits only fit the late model large bearing flange although I think some are offered to fit small bearing housings.
I assume the wheel cylinders are either 1 in or 1x1/8 and the master cyl must be matched to provide increased volume.

If anyone has done this upgrade what master cyl did you use and was a "residual valve" required?
Basically, was this a simple swap parts upgrade?

Thanks,
TonyS

FE Technical Forum / Total Control Products/Alston FE Engine Mounts
« on: March 11, 2024, 10:35:07 AM »
Has anyone installed Total Control/Alston poly Aluminum engine mounts in a stock FE Mustang?
I'm getting conflicting info.
Some say the the engine sits too far forward and there isn't enough clearance for the stock fan and radiator.
Others say the engine sits lower.
I called the tech line and naturally was told the mounts position the engine in the 100% stock location.

All feedback appreciated.
Don't need to waste $250 - $300 on another bum product.

Thanks,
TonyS
