What did you make the converter spacers out of? What was the OD of the converter spacers?

Thanks Jim for the detailed response it is much appreciated. Would you happen to have a picture of the crank spacer?  Also do you have to do anything with the starter?

Hi Jim  thanks for responding, could you give me any details on how to accomplish this. Did you use a C6 converter ?

I have not had any luck finding a bellhousing for converting a C4 to my 464. I have a COM FE bellhousing that I am hoping to use for that purpose. Does anyone have any personal experience doing this? I know I would have to make an adapter plate .
I would appreciate any measurements or advice on how to proceed. Also I have the adapter spline to use a C6 torque converter

FE Technical Forum / Re: Electric water pump
« on: March 13, 2026, 07:41:12 PM »
For cooling I have a new ACP aluminum radiator with two  one and quarter inch tubes
And I have two 11 inch Spal  fans rated at 1640 cfm part #30102800 that have the highest amperage rating I could find they really pull a lot of air and no shroud
On the highway  the temperatures are no problem. The water pump is a cheap aluminum one so I thought maybe a good upgrade to the CVR proflow extreme 55 gpm would help

I am looking at putting the CVR electric water pump on my 464. A couple of questions will this help it run cooler in city driving over the mechanical pump?
Also since there is no provision for plumbing in to the water pump could I just run the return line for the heater core into the thermostat housing where there is a pipe plug already? Any comments would be appreciated Thanks

My 464 ended up at 34 degrees with 94 octane pump gas

Thanks for the comment Jay it does drive very nice on the street so I think I will leave it as is and upgrade the transmission from a C6 to a c4 or a Broader AOD or 4R70W

Dyno headers on the first sheet, Hooker 6114 on the second.  Couldn't get these files to rotate properly, but you can still read them.  Looks like the engine prefers a smaller tube header for torque, and also for average power and average torque.  Not a big difference though - Jay

I would’ve thought that the dyno headers would do better than the hookers just wondering if maybe the streetmaster intake is holding it back a little

Hello TwoFifty. I would be happy to post the dyno pulls for both sets of headers but I tried with both my IPad and IPhone and I wasn’t able to maybe if I could send the pictures to someone they could post them for me

I have a couple of fe aluminum bells that I think came off of cruisomatics could these be adapted to a C4? Does anyone here have any firsthand experience doing this?

Thanks for the good work on this , I wouldn’t have expected them to be quite that bad

I am having the same problem with a Powermaster 9506M starter . I have less thank 2 dozen starts on it pulled it out and found that there is play in the shaft of the starter just wiggling it withe my fingers I’m sure that the play is compounded when torquing on the ring gear causing it to not mesh properly. Might be an idea to ask your mechanic if he checked for that
