Only five?  Do you have an approximate price?  Finally, what did you use for the linkage on your current setup?
Thanks,
Dan

I'd like to thank everyone for their replies.  It looks to be a doable project, so I guess the next step is to find a car  :).  I did find some line drawings and measurements for the FE, 351W, and the OHC engines.  The OHC is the widest of them all, but the carbureted engines are taller; might need a hood scoop.  It looks like the biggest issue is the K frame.  I'll need to check with the aftermarket manufacturers, but it doesn't look like there's a big difference in the motor mounts between the FE and the 429 blocks.
Anyone else with experience in a swap like this, please feel free to chip in.  Thanks.

FE Technical Forum / Will an FE fit?

Hi Everyone,
I've read that an FE will fit into an 80's Fairmont.  Will it also fit either the 83-88 Tbirds, or the 89-97 version.  I like the Tbird body styles better, and if the engine will fit, I'd rather go that route.  Also, are there aftermarket wiring harnesses to adapt the harness to the FE engine.  Thanks in advance for your help.
Take care,
Dan

Private Classifieds / 65 Galaxie clutch assist spring

Hi everyone,
A buddy of mine is putting together a 65 Galaxie, it'll have a 428 and 4 speed toploader.  He's having trouble finding a clutch assist spring, part # c5az-7534-A.  Any help finding one would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.
Take care,
Dan

What intake manifold are you using?  My 351W is in the shop, getting rebuilt with a 427 stroker kit put in.  I'd love to be able to run twin Holleys on it!

Thanks everyone for your input!  The car is 99% street driven, so I'll use those specs.

Dan

Hi Everybody,
I'm taking my car in for alignment on Tuesday.  It's a 64 Comet, 427 FE, with a Mustang ii front end.  I put new tires on it last year and had the alignment checked.  The tires are both starting to feather on the out side edges.  I've got maybe 1000 miles on the car since the new tires were installed.  What should I be looking for as specs for the alignment?  Should I go with Mustang ii specs, go with the Comet OEM specs, or do something different?  Any suggestions would be welcome.
Take care,
Dan

Hi Everyone,
I'm looking for a place in Central NY (Syracuse), where I can get my headers recoated.  Anyone have any suggestions?  About 7-8 years ago, I used a place called "The Mad Scientist", just outside of Auburn, but the phone number I had is no good, and I can't find him online.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance.
Take care,
Dan

Good Deals! / Brent Lykins

I recently bought a couple of Brent's adjustable timing pointers.  I received them yesterday, and I'm very happy with them.  Brent is easy to work with, and it was a pleasure to do business with him.

I remember the commercial, "I'd walk a mile for a Camel".  Now, it's "I'd ride 1800 kilometers for two cokes".  Must be inflation)).

FE Technical Forum / Alignment specs
« on: July 21, 2021, 08:14:44 PM »
Hi Everyone,
I have a 64 Comet with an FE 482 CID in it.  The front end is a Mustang II unit.  I'm getting the front end aligned/tires balanced next week.  Can anyone tell me what specs I should be looking for on the alignment?  Right now I get a lot of vibration from the front end, and the tires are wearing on the inside edges.
Thanks in advance.
Take care,
Dan
