Pull the heads and get the valves touched up to fix #4 then drive the wheels off of it and enjoy it

I would get a hold of who your going to have make your new axle's and ask them what dimensions they need, then go measure your housing

Agreed, but remember he'll say whatever he thinks will generate more views because the views = $$$

Sounds like the camshaft gear may be cut wrong, try it with another old cam known to be ok. might be the cam AND the block dimensions stacking up ?  :)

I always start with jetting the way that Holley built them then see what the combo wants for the fine-tuning. Holley typically built them pretty close to how much fuel is needed for how much air they will pass

If it turns out to be an oil feed hole from the block into the head, a pressed-in thin-wall tube in the block hole could be done without block teardown.

KS
That must be the repair that I've heard of using a pushrod with the ends cut off pushed into the oil passage thats needs repair ?

Any of the piston manufacturing people will make what you want, you just have to tell them what you want
Size, dome or dish, how big, pin size and length ring package that you want to run etc.

Is that Pushrod cup the correct size ?
Might just be the pic and shadows but it looks large for that adjuster ball end

FE Technical Forum / Re: Ideal temps and fan setpoints?
« on: June 02, 2023, 11:05:36 AM »
I was always told that the higher temp thermostats and running temps were for emissions reasons and an effort to increase gas mileage. The automakers did start using them it the mid 70's when all of the emissions stuff started getting crazy.
For me, the old stuff gets 160°, newer whatever lets the computer think that it's warmed up

Well, it's a C8AX-D cam...probably not the cam we need for a 428 PI, C-6 highway patrol car :)
Mmmmm......No don't think thats the cam that you want for that application 😉
Love it in my Mustang though 😁
