Very Basic 428, small solid roller with stock Ed heads and RPM intake.
Jerico 4 sp and a soft loc.

Made 10 runs, the piece of junk tach started to fall apart. lol
-
Nicely done, Howie. Love to see air under both tires.
-
Congrats Howie! Looks good. :D
-
Really nice, Howie!!
-
good deal Howie,i like your fairlane.i bet you had a blast making ten passes
-
Thanks guys.
It was a blast!
The car was very consistent at 12.3ish so we dialed the 12.30.
Qual'ed on that at 12.35. Great run. Near the top of the ladder.
So like an idiot, I should turn the wick up. Bad plan.
Too Fast. ::)

what do you do to run 12.30's , shift early ?? .... what's it run flat out ??..... nice front tire air !!

Yes shift early and often. :P
Really I'm just going real slow and learning how to drive the thing.
I'm only letting the 428 spin to 6300 for now.
Someday I will put a big engine in it and then we will see what it can do. ;)

That's it.

Play that launch back at .25 speed and you can see the rear porpoising bad, unloading the tires. I had a similar problem at Beaver because my shocks were set way too soft.
You can see your launch at 1/4 speed here:
https://youtu.be/IRzrzPM0yVQ?t=1m45s
Edit: I tried to set it at 1/4 speed, but I think you'll have to change it to that yourself under the "settings" in the lower right corner.
Compare it to mine unloading here:

It allows the rear to rebound back up and lose all traction. Only difference I see is that yours doesn't seem to stop bouncing. What shocks and springs do you have on it?
Slow-mo is one of the greatest tools you can have for finding problems with your launch. Keep at it, Howie. Looks like you could knock a couple tenths off when you get it figured out.
-
Yes the shocks.
The car is still way too loose.
Just need more runs.
I will take it out a few more times this year for sure.
It was a lot of fun.

Hey Howie when you were doing your burnout is it just me or did the pass side wheel stop spinning while you were still doing burnout

It must be the way the video shows it. It does look like it at the burnout
but then you can see the RR doing ugly thing at the line.
From the first run last summer at the test to the full race this weekend
the car has pretty keeps getting faster as I learn how to work the car.
The fastest run was the last so there is lots of speed there just have sort
it out.

i dont know if i would run any more than 6500 rpms,it might be quicker shifting at 6000 than at 6500.i did a 7200 rpm burnout with my 428 and i bent 8 pushrods.i put a 6000 chip in,7200 was too much and i was running better at 6000-6500
