Did a road test today. Drove it in to Porters Lake. It's about 16 miles on the old #7.
Car ran great, I'm about as happy as an old car guy can get.
The Jerico works prefect.
It's ready to race on the 20'th. Ye Haw!
Needs a wee drink.

Congrats Howie, no leaks means you've done the job right and I see you're using the correct brand of gas! ;)

Which headers do you have?
Just an old set of small tube Hookers.

They are Weiand with the fins milled off.

Thought that's what they looked like. I have the 1 3/4" headers by Ed on mine with five bolt together tubes that snake all over. Look cool but are a pain to r&r. I have decided when I go back through my engine and get the headers powdercoated, I only have one choice, flat white. I think that is the best color for contrast and period correct appearance.

that's a nice touch on the valve covers. i like...

Way to go, Howie! Sure looks roomy under the hood with no battery.
Looking forward to next weekend's report (fingers crossed for good weather).
What ET will put a grin on your face?

If we had someone who knows how to drive, it should run into the low 11's.
BUT with me at the helm, as long as I don't break it I will be happy. ::)
Weather may be on our side for at least one day.
Will you be in town this summer, we have a big BBQ on Canada Day. :)
-
No, going to be hanging out in the southland this summer; going up to the York PA US-30 Reunion and Nostalgia Nats 11-12 July.
The NS family is with us in VA now, enjoying the 35C+ temps. Kiddies spend all their time in the pool or at the beach.
Best of luck at the track...if the Fairlane runs well and isn't traction-limited you'll get a good indication of real-world HP.

Whats the rear tire/wheel size/bs? I was gonna sell my '67 falcon (recently bought 2 '65's, my FE will go in one), but havent had much interest, I have a decent 4v cleveland core, am thinking about putting magnums on it, those look good, and fill it up nice.

The wheels are 15X8 and 4.5" BS and the tires are BFG 255's. They are tough old tires, but not a traction.
Hoping for a bit better bite with these.

Thanks scotia. I was thinking 255's on my '67 falcon, probably a good choice. I have run Hoosier 9x30 slicks in the past, when they are new, they REALLY hook, but the initial ultra hook goes away fairly quickly. They still hook pretty good after that, and once the characteristics of the tire stabilize, they last a long time, but there was a noticable difference after about 10 hits. Shortly after that, we switched them side for side, didnt really change anything. This was a long time ago, so the current tires may be different. Not that they were "bad" tires or anything, just thought it was a notable trait at the time. Also, these were thier stock eliminator tires.
