Title: Anyone have a set of 6114 Hookers around for some measuring?
Post by: My427stang on June 01, 2026, 12:21:01 PM
If anyone does, I need a minimum height and width of the exhaust port flange ID where it meets the head, and how much weld ring there is from that edge.  example L x W and minimum of .250 sealing surface

Thanks!

I was not happy with the weld ring on my headers.
What I did was tig weld up the outside flange to header pipe
and then remove the weld ring by resurfacing the whole flange
that bolts to the head. After resurfacing I cut the flange between
every exhaust port. Also by doing that I was able to gain some
more clearance in the shock tower mustang by resurfacing. By doing
that I got 100% seal around the port. They been on the car for over
10 years without any leaks. I dont know the measurements because
they are on the car and hard to get at. Hope this helps some.

Appreciate your response, but not trying to seal a set, trying to do some planning for compatibility with a modified set of heads

Not intending to sidetrack the thread, but the best quality and real race headers are built just as you did.
