Non-FE Discussion Forum / Horsepower loss
« on: May 13, 2019, 06:53:41 PM »
Curious they say a C-6 drains 60-70 horsepower and a C-4 about 40 horsepower. Does a manual tranny cost any horsepower. Wondering if a car would be faster with a stick compared to an automatic if traction was the same for both.

So dad bought a kit car 33 roadster, control arms have bushings in it, can they be powder coated with them in it. I havent seen them myself to see if they can be pressed out. I would imagine they can. Maybe the heat isn’t too that bad.

Non-FE Discussion Forum / Bummed out
    « on: March 25, 2019, 06:32:28 PM »
So Tuesday night at the end of work I was lifting steel beams and truck batteries and right before I left cracked a disc and it’s sitting on a nerve. Went to emergency room got MRI and not looking good. They rushed me in for an epidural so it doesn’t hurt real bad but my right leg is numb. So I don’t know when I’m getting it fixed I would have to imagine soon. I have a doctor appointment on the 8th but trying to get it moved up. Not sure how it works with workman’s comp but I’m on light duty full time so does that mean no FE reunion.??!!. That would really suck. I guess I have to talk to comp lawyer. Like I said BUMMER

FE Technical Forum / BT 2x4 intake
    « on: March 14, 2019, 11:34:13 AM »
Ok so I got my intake on today after a few fittings. At first it was hitting underneath near #3 cylinder so I had to grind it down some and as I ground it down it starte to hit other cylinders so I kept going until nothing was hitting. All this is even after I bent down the head gasket tabs..So now I think I’m all good I checked with a borascope for cylinder port matching which was good, so I set up my new gaskets and get everything nice were I want it and torque everything down and put my pushrods in on passenger side and start to evenly tighten down and while watching for the pushrods to seat in the cups I noticed that the stands weren’t sitting flat. Took a look and really couldn’t believe it but the port was sitting a good 3/16 to 1/4 inch high. At that point I was gonna make a call to we’re I got it but I already made some modifications to it so I scribed a line and took it apart. One intake gasket down the drain, good thing I got two. Well grinded it down a little extra to be safe and put it all together this morning. So intake is on pushrods in and rockers are on and all is good. But should I have needed to do any of this. I mean I was surprised. Oh the drivers side of the motor really didn’t need any grinding I took a smidge off but nothing to speak of, did anybody else have Any of these problems or am I just lucky.

    « on: February 24, 2019, 01:04:27 PM »
Just wondering how everybody else is doing, how far away are you from being ready for this upcoming cruising or race season. I for one need to make an intake swap although if I wanted I could go and take my car for a ride. Just been slacking a little lately myself.

I guess I should have put this in discussion part ::) :o

Just a heads up on amazon valvoline VR1 is 12.65 for 20/50 and a few cents less for 10/30. Now thats for a case of 6. Lets say I run Brad Penn 10/40 for the last 2 years and all has been good. Do you think I can switch over to valvoline 10/30 without me getting all nervous and jerky.

FE Technical Forum / BT 2x4 intake
    « on: December 30, 2018, 12:50:05 PM »
So I got a late Christmas present yesterday, received my new BT 2x4 intake and it has the c7 part
number on it which makes it look stock. Very excited since my car is on the verge of a 10 second car and I think it is very streetable. I’m assuming I should be able to get a little more than a tenth out of it. A thanks goes out to Dennis at DSC motorsports everything went very smooth and I got it just when he said I would have it.
