Thanks guys. I am surprised there aren’t more examples. Part of me thinks since TFS was aiming at the more normal size FE that it may not be bad. But with no examples I am starting to lean towards trying to find or trade the TW for a BT instead. It is hard to beat the look of a TW but don’t want a lot of fuss.

What is the engine combo you plan to use?

I haven't seen any tunnel wedge or single plane FE behave badly on the street.  If you have 427 cid or more and want dual quad, I'd go for it.  Cam it appropriately for use and enjoy it

It is a 461 with TFS heads. I agree, I think it will be okay, but was hoping to get some examples for reference.

On the cam, Ross I’ll be reaching out to you and Brent for some advice on a cam I have and whether I should use it or go HR.

Mine is a Dove that came off a V-drive boat, has 2" spacers under 660's. Guy said it ran great and very fast, just hard to keep gas in it- that loud pedal, y'know

The original FOMOCO design may not have been engineered for street use but it’s no problem running one. Most of the builds on here,(and yours), have so much “nut” down low it won’t matter that it’s a single plane.

I’m assuming that it does not have the mongo airflow of the larger BBM piece

It is my understanding that the Dove like mine is also larger inside than the original? Of course I could go look it up in Jay's book, but maybe others like Joe Craine can confirm?

Yes, Jay tested the manifolds for total volume,  the original Ford Tunnel Wedge was 4000 cc's, the Dove Tunnel Wedge was 4125 cc's. Jay's book was published before either the BBM or Trick Flow Tunnel Wedge were available,  I've asked a couple times on the forum here in the past if someone could take the volume measurements on those intakes for us, to have some real data, but so far I haven't seen anyone report that info.
