Check to see if it's getting power...12V.

I don't care for MSD products and still using my old Crane HI-6 unit!

i wonder if the taylor box uses the same plug and harness as the msd.if i bought a taylor and get my msd repaired to keep in the trunk,it would be nice if they both would plug in with the same harness

I am using this in my Comet. Check out the features for the money. I have only used it for this summer so I cannot attest to the reliability. It has good reviews and works great for me. I love launching off the 2 step!!.

Sure seems that way. I have had the same old MSD 6T ignition box for about 25 years now, still works great, although the 6T does require a seperate rev limiter. When the analog 6AL came out, I bought one, and installed it in my 85 Mustang Stock Eliminator car. During the next 10 years, I had 2 6ALs fail on me, while the old 6T keeps going and going......

update-i had my son, the electrician in the family take a look at my ignition.he found that my red wire to the box was chewed by a mouse.after fixing that the box started working again but it was running rough and backfiring when i tried to rev it. i remembered the last time i drove my comet i got caught in a rain storm.my hood scoops are open so i thought i would look for moisture in the dist cap.so after spraying it off with wd40 inside and out,i wiped it off and put it back together.its now a screaming S.O.B.that shows me what the instruction book says that most of the time its a ground or loose connection instead of box failure

^^^ Glad you got it fixed.  Electrical issues can be a major headache.

Two weeks ago I got the ride of shame home on the flatbed. Was running round with my son enjoying the weather and stopped to top off gas prior to going back home. Hopped in and no electrical at all. No dome light.. no horn.. no ignition.. no dice. WTF! Thing was running fine 10 minutes before. Batt.. cables and fuses all good. /scratch-head

Long story short. I've owned this car 25 years and never noticed the previous owner had taken the 2 wires from the hot side of the firewall solenoid and combined them with a 3rd. Hooked them together with a small screw, electrical taped the entire setup up & hidden it under the battery tray. The 3rd wire went through the amp meter on the aftermarket Sunpro 3 gauge set and back to the hot side of the solenoid. So all the 12v electricity (interior and ignition) was going through the amp meter! Found it when I was chasing the circuits back with the schematic. Guess I should be thankful it farted out closer to home and not at a meetup a hundred miles from home.   :o
