Harland Sharp Adjustment - Subtitle: Define "two threads showing".
« on: September 05, 2024, 05:14:24 PM »
I think i will be alright here.

Harland sharp says to have 0-2 threads showing and the illustration is looking straight side view. Obviously if you count the treads starting where the rocker arm threads end it is more.

So opinions - am I OK here - Note 2 pictures but may be slow to load:

Thanks

Close enough, just make sure you don't have any cup/rocker contact

I put a yellow paint dot on the adjuster screw, right at the beginning of the thread next to the ball.
Screwed the adjuster into the rocker until the yellow dot was just showing at the rocker push rod side.
That to me was "0" thread showing.

Ordered push rods at that length, which gave me 2 turns to set preload on the hydraulic roller lifters.
Don't need that much, but it keeps it in the "range" of 0 to 2 turns.
Every 20 minute job is 1 broken bolt away from becoming a 3 day ordeal.

Thank You Ross and Galaxiex

They all went about the same, no contact and she's running...
