Has any one used one of these on a fe 2x4 intake with 4160 carbs and factory style progressive linkage any info would be a great help.

I am thinking hard about converting my 482 to a sohc the part that scares me is getting a parts list. Who should I try for a list of what I need I am not in the USA so that adds an extra layer of problems.

I'am thinking 20k and 12 months should be close to find all parts instock and buy them dose that sound in the ball park?

I am pretty sure my c6 transmission failed today wile I was on my way to an event. I was cruising at 60mph slight bang then it sounded like the tailshaft fell out did not get any vibration it did snuff my engine out by the time I got it pulled up on the side of the highway. Got the car towed home did not have much battery left once I got home engine seems to turn over fine nothing sounds bad I will start the car tomorrow and check every thing is ok there but I think everything is fine with the engine car rolled and moved fine loading and unloading it no fluids leaking from any parts oils all look good and clean and smell normal.

once I work out what failed if it is the gear box I was going to pull it apart not sure if there are places I should look first inside the trans. The trans has done no work since rebuild and worked great the place that built it for me is no longer around after 30years of building transmissions sadly when I got a donner box I got an early one 1966. I will upgrade to a later model case this time.

Has anyone had a failure like that?

I am on to the last part of adding A/C to my 66 fairlane right now I have 2 oil coolers in front of the radiator one for engine and one for trans that need to be relocated.

I have an option to relocate them to the rear of the car. Question I would like to ask is relocating the engine oil cooler at the rear of the car will add around 3m/(10 foot) of -10/(5/8) length of oil lines oil cooler holds around 14oz of oil.

How much will this change oil pressure I have never had to think about running such long engine oil cooler lines before any one have experience with a problem like this?

What I would like to know is a comp cam's camshaft spec card is lash listed cold or hot? I have always set mine cold and never had a problem as it is quite a job to remove my valve covers and the other things I need to do to set lash even when cold. But I would like to know how comp cams wants you to do it.

Can anyone see why this heater tap would not work on a tunnel wedge intake. Apart from it hitting intake runner or distributer
I would like to keep the water lines nice and neat and avoid having lines all over the place my A/C heater core only has 2 lines I think 67 had 3 any thoughts on how I can make it less ugly would be great

I am looking for a 66 67 fairlane heater blower motor switch with A/C from a factory A/C fairlane.

If anyone knows any good places or people to try to find one any help would be great

I need some help I got lucky last week and got my self a 66 fairlane factory a/c unit here in Australia 99% complete. Guy is putting a twin turbo 540 bbf in his 66 hardtop fairlane and decided the a/c was not needed so I grabbed it.

I need some help and photo's of some one who is building or has a factory a/c 66 fairlane

What would very help full is a pic of a 66 ac dash cluster for how the dash control's are marked
Any info diagrams photos of vacuum tank location and vacuum lines for heater/a/c box trap doors to dash controls.
And if any one has measurements of dash vents holes
Any books I can buy with 66/67 factory a/c info would be great too.

I plan to post about fitting it to my fairlane once I am deeper into the project I am almost finished rebuilding the indash heater-A/C box.

My engine has be in my car now for just over 2 years now and has well over 5000miles but less then 7k on it engine is a solid roller bbm block and heads and intake and it has been flawless. I was thinking of pulling the engine soon and doing a check of lifters and pull a few main and rod caps just to see how everything looks. Am I crazy for thinking about it? when would be a good time to think about it?.

It has had a pretty easy life so far no strip runs just street driving and a skid once and a wile and lots of highway miles

Second half of this post has to do with oil temps and highway driving I have always had a concern about my oil temp when highway driving not really a problem @65mph @3000rpm sits at about 200 might get to 220 on a hot day and 70mph for 30min to an hour. Last weekend I gave the car a bit of a hard run on the way to a local car show ran at 75/80mph for around 30min at 3500 3600rpms engine oil temp hit 230@60/65psi. Oil temp is stable and it came right back down 190 200 as soon as I had to slow down for built up area's 40/50mph speed zones. I do run an oil cooler I am not sure if I should change oil type at the moment I am running Penrite HPR 30 20w/60 https://penriteoil.com.au/products/hpr-30-20w-60-mineral Every oil change has looked great nothing abnormal in the oil filter. Would the BBM block being cast solid below the water plugs be why? everything else is great water temp will only get to 200 on the hottest of days the day before I went to another local event and sat in bumper to bumper traffic for 2 hours to do a 2 lap cruise of the main streets of the town near me with about 1000+ other cars water temp sat at 165 to 180 engine oil sat at 180/190@40/45psi at idle trans temp sat at 180/190 the entire time it was a cooler night 26 deg C. Any thoughts on oils I can't get some of the oils you can get in the USA here in Australia but I thinking of switching to a synthetic oil.

I am about to do an oil change on my C6 trans I am running a TCI deep oil pan and I am trying to find the correct filter I can get a TCI one in Australia Part I came up with was TCI Part # 428501.
Is this what I should get or What do people use for built deep pan C6's?

I am getting parts ready to fit A/C to my 66 fairlane next year my car was not an A/C car i have factory A/C vents that i want to use.
I would like to use hot/cold system dose anyone here have advice on what systems fit i still want to keep my glove box.

Big thing i need help with is heater A/C box no one makes a remakes a factory one and i don't know places to start looking even as i do not live in the USA.
vintage air systems would be fine too any help on what fitted good for you or people you know would be great

I need help to find a set of 66/67 fairlane front door panel emblems 500xl or gt or inserts missing dose not matter i would like ones with great chrome but ill look at any right now clips must be intact. I am not in the USA so it is almost imposable for me to find even bad ones
