My 67 f100 I drove daily for a few years the whole front rotted open.  I had to duct tape it closed to drive it because it would flap in the wind at highway speed!

Ive run regular AutoZone rebuilds in all three hot rods.  The truck is 10.5/1 428CJ.  Starts fine all the time and has headers(no heat wrap either).  Only after like 20 yrs did I finally put a new one in because it was starting to struggle when hot.  The blower car is just 9/1 390 so it is easy on starters.

The wagon got a Robb starter only because the autozone started to struggle with 12.5/1 500ci FE.  It would start it but got to really start to grunt when warm.  I gave in and spent the big bucks.  Ive heard all the horror stories with mini starters.  2 yrs and still fine.  I ordered the nose support bearing version.

Strange to hear that "roller cam brgs" add nothing performance wise.  But if you think about it, the cam runs on an oil film, so the fact there is roller brgs has nill effect.

I put roller brgs in my 496.  It was a WTH, if you are fixing it you might as well fix it big scenario.  The flat tappet ate the std bearings so what's another $500 in the mix of buying a cam, roller lifters, TnD rockers, etc.

Nice looking torch set.  Doubt much to worry about on them.  Check movement of valves.  Too loose, might leak.  Should just be snug to turn so they stay where you set them.  Likely the packing is still okay.

Regulators?  I always turn mine down after dumping pressure when done using them.  I would slowly turn tank on and see what they do.  Diaphram might be broke?  Off the top of my head I can't recall what I set mine at(I too don't use them often, but glad to have them when the need arises).  I just adjust pressure as needed to do a job and what size head I'm using.

The other options is find a bigger pin and locate a machine shop that could centerless grind the larger pin to the size you need.  All depends on what you have available in your area.

I rebushed the front axles of my old Cub Cadets by drilling the holes larger, installing bushings from Mc Master Carr, then reaming them to size.  It helps to work at a machine shop.

Yes, the old ones were 600 cfm vacuum secondaries, the new ones are 650 cfm double pumpers.  I need the extra fuel at launch.  I had the squirters drilled out to .089? On the 600s to get it to leave and not fall on its face.  The double pumpers should eliminate that.

I think I could have put stiffer springs in the secondaries to hold them shut a bit longer and muffled the bog, but I think bigger carbs will see an improvement also.
