10 to 13 horse is nothing to sneeze about didn’t know it was that much. And I do like the idea of circulating the water while the car is off.

Hmm pull some plugs and read them see if any anti freeze on them or a tinge of green. How does it idle is it missing or running rough.

I’ve been using the hurst quarter stick for a long time. I had a mega shifter before this and it was finicky but you could get it to work. I lost a race because of it and bought the hurst. Was looking into a winters shifter I like them but until I my shifter breaks why change.

I had just had ATI give me an additional .020 clearance using my stock flexplates. On the stock flexplates were the converter touches the flexplates the plate bows out. The ATI flexplate is flat. With the stock plate I had .100 with the extra .020 I figured I’d be good. Now I have around .270. Well I made some spacers which are going to give me .135. I tell ya every time I touch something it causes another problem. Well I dropped the motor in today so I’m a little closer.

Thank you.

I agree I would at least take intake off and take all lifters out and check all pushrods and cups on rockers. Maybe pull dizzy and check oil that comes out at mdifferent places and see if any debris are coming out. I know pain in the ass but you should at least do that. These motors are expensive I think you have to be careful.. JMO

I don’t think the low rpm on the hwy did it in. Even at 2200 rpm oil is really blowing around inside the motor. Hate to hear this with the solid rollers. I only have 3000 miles on my car in 8 years 2700 were with a flat tapped solid. How many miles are on the lifters?

So just received new Flexplate from Jegs. Just took a look at it and I’m not near my original one but this one is way thicker and heavy duty. It’s an ATI for a C-6. So of course I’m gonna check were the ring gear sits in relation to block but should starter engagement still be good.

I remember going to the track when I was around 5 years old, the engine noises and the colors of the cars was intoxicating. When we were kids and they were tuning the car in the driveway and the fenders would be shaking and it was so loud you couldn’t talk to your cousin right next to you. Them testing the car in the street in front of the house open headers yeah well it don’t get to much better than that.
