« on: April 05, 2021, 02:59:44 PM »
The part number is C6OZ-7A256-BR

Does anyone have one of these laying around?

Good luck finding a deal on an original.  I paid a lot more than that for one for my '70.....

I also think you'll pay more for an original.

If you know someone who can weld and is handy you can actually make one pretty easy. Back before reproductions were readily available my friend needed one for his ‘67 Mustang. I had another friend of ours fabricate one using the shaft of his core C6 as the basis, cutting off the arm it had and welding on a copy of the ‘66-‘69 floor shift arm, using one of mine as a pattern. It’s a pretty basic design, and you don’t even have to replicate the bend it has in it if the arm you’re starting with already has the bend. Just be sure to start with a shaft that has the two slots in it that engage the neutral safety switch. When he was done it was pretty hard to tell the difference. Just throwing it out there, if you decide to go that route and need a pattern I’m sure one of us could trace you out one on a piece of paper.

Just guessing this is for a console shifter if so I have a mostly complete c6 from a 66 comet with console shift I would sell .I am located in Ga. 678 603 8400 Doug pricing would be reasonable.

I could definitely modify the existing selector shaft to interface with the shifter linkage, but the problem is that the shaft won't accept a Neutral Safety Switch as it current stands.

I have three used '70 "dual lever" style $100 ea. + shipping. Easy to remove the "extra" lever.

Are they keyed on the shaft for a neutral safety switch?

$100 is a steal for a '70 shaft, they can easily fetch $400.  And yes, they have the key for the neutral safety switch.  As a side note for anyone with a 1970 Mustang, you CAN use the earlier '67-'69 neutral safety switch in a '70 application if you add shims (washers) under the mounting bolts to space it out.  The earlier switch seems to be easier to find.

Can you send me a picture of them?  I just want to make 100% sure they would fit the application, and I'd be interested in buying one.
