Rocky Mountain Race Week registration DENIED!!
« on: March 06, 2021, 01:01:54 PM »
After waiting over an hour to register after their website crashed I didn't get in. Their sign up pages highlighted areas were hard for me to see so it took me too long to get all the information inputted. Also the waiting list was hosed up so I ended up emailing them to get on the list. They said their site was overwhelmed and it thought it was under a cyber attack and shut down. The remaining 107 spots sold out in about 3 minutes. The way they do registration is if you participated the previous year, you get first shot the day before and the remaining spots are up for grabs the following day. I had a feeling it was going to be like this since Hot Rod has yet to announce if it is even going to have a Drag Week this year. No problem, Great Bend is only a couple hours from me. If I don't get a response from the waiting list I may just show up and take my chances.

Those nefarious Russian hackers again! ;D

That's a bummer, Alan. Does RMRW let people in that just show up, like DW does? Hopefully you can slide in somehow. I've been wondering how long Hot Rod was going to drag this out before making their announcement.

Yes they have similar rules as DW in that area.
They also have a class( I guess you'd call it that) called Road Week. It gives you full access to all the venues and the routes but you don't race. Since I was already seriously considering taking my Galaxie and just kind of cruising the event this could be an option for me too, although I'd rather make passes at the track. We'll see.
Since I competed in RaceWeek 2.0 last year I will get to register early for it so I am good for at least one event. If DragWeek comes through and has the same venues as last year's cancelled event I'll most likely go with RaceWeek 2021 2.0 since it will be much closer and no where near Chicago! If Hot Rod holds to the same dates as before RaceWeek 2021 2.0 will go on at the same time.
