61-64 full sized headers
« on: March 12, 2021, 03:35:58 PM »
Don't know if this is common knowledge or not but I was on Jegs site today and found Hooker Super Comp headers for the 61 to 64 full sized Fords for $775.00.
1.875 x36 tubes
Part number 520-6205

Can anyone think of a reason these headers wouldn't fit a'60?

The '60 352 HP in a Thunderbird had cast manifolds like was used on the 390 HP/406 if my memory still serves me correctly.  If those manifolds fit the '60-'64, then the headers should work.  Should be the operative word.  Joe-JDC

The Hooker pipes require that you cut the inner fender. Crites groups the body-style from 60-64 so the Hookers MAY fit.

I'm thinking the 60 was a one year only frame. maybe wider after the A frames. And yes one header tube does go thru the inner fender and around the outside of the frame back to the collector.

Yep, 2 tubes do the same on the passenger side.  Inner fender had to be cut but it sure is nice for starter access (says the guy who made a hobby out of pulling the starter 'till he got everything right).  Unbolt 3 & 4 and they slide out of their joints with no hassle.  Doesn't answer the question about fit in a '60, these pics are in a '64, might give you a visual cue?
