Got a e mail from my dealership- Lets see what happens
« on: January 20, 2021, 07:25:45 PM »
hi
Received a e mail from the Ford dealership I have bought 4 new Mustangs and 5 trucks from since 2007.
Guess what, they want to sell me a new Mustang.
I sent them an e mail back and told them I didn't need a new car and more then likely would never buy another new car.
She e mailed me back and asked me why so I told her I was tired of paying 10 to 20 thousand more for options when I only wanted 4 thousand dollars of options.
She said I could special order a Mustang with just what I wanted so I sent her my list.
I told her I wanted a car just legal enough to drive to the race track and back home without getting impounded so I sent her my list.
1- Mustang body in white with no strips, decals etc.
2- 7.3 supercharged Godzilla engine.
3-6 Speed manual
4-Torsen 411 geared rear.
5-GT 350 suspension without the megitic shocks.
6-Radio delete with insulation and carpet delete.
7- Rear view camera
8_ Racaro seats with red interior. No gray or brown.

I havn't got an answer yet but if she can come up with this and not charge me like a rolls I might just order one.

I special ordered my 2020 F350 duelie, did the ford "you Build it" thing and saved a shit pile of money.  Even during the pandemic it still only took 7 weeks and I had my new ride.

Friend ordered a 2020 F-150 single cab, short bed, 5.0 Roush 650 hp, 10 speed auto, 3.31 traction lock, all the other bells and whistles, no badging to show it even has a 5.0, for $39,995 delivered to his house.  Joe-JDC

That is a good looking truck.
I love black but my 08 and 12 Mustang GTs were black and I got tired of washing them 3 times a week.
I expect the big hold up on my order would be the engine. I don't know for a fact but I think they would have to get a government certification for it and I don't think they would do that for one car.

Good luck with that! I'm completely in agreement regarding all the unnecessary tech b.s. they pile into a vehicle to "justify" the sticker. I purchased a 2020 Transit for the business, and it came with a pile of standard nonsense, which inflated the price. Some of this tech is ineffectual, not just unnecessary. I should've been more patient and kept looking for a 2019 and earlier with low mileage, as a lot changed on the '20 models (another reason I wanted an earlier model). I don't plan on buying new again.

I'm waiting for my customer dissatisfaction survey....

Man, I like it.

I remember back in 99 and 00 when I ordered my new black F350's.  Check the boxes I wanted, nothing more.  Sure do miss those trucks.

I really like it. It suits me.  Its basically a commercial type construction truck. 2 wheel drive, gas engine, running  boards, window protection, 4 wheel mud flaps, Basic as hell  inside. All rubber mat flooring. Vinyl seats, tow package with cameras and mirrors, premium sound system, roll up windows which some of my friends said wouldn't be possible to get, only bells and whistles I got was just what I wanted and needed.

Two years ago I went looking for a new shop truck.
The prices were outrageous so I started looking at their used trucks.
I found a basic F250 that had the compressed natural gas conversion kit on it.
Just what i needed with the rubber floor mats, gas 6.2 and 6 speed automatic. Basic radio with a cd player that I still haven't used yet with the towing package. 113,000 miles for $10,500.
Gasoline is $2.39 now but the cng is $1.69 so I am saving a ton on my gas bill.
I don't know if I can find a new truck with cng as I haven't seen any offered in my area for years .
I hope to get a few more thousand miles on the truck before I have to look for a new one.

How did this thread become about the truck?  I think that Mustang is special order request is hilarious!  Awesome if they do it, but imagine the reaction from the sales dept...

I give it a zero percent chance, if anything the manufacturers are going away from customization...bigtime...it's been happening for years.

I do to.
The big hang up I can see is it will have to be certified because I would have to drive it to the track and back. I don't think Ford or any other manufacture would just do a 1 car certification.
I did tell them I would take the car with the engine not installed and I would install the engine but it would have to bolt up with no fabrication on my part.
Told them I would take delivery at my shop and I would install the engine myself.
Shouldn't take over a day to install.
Don't expect a warranty either.

Got a reply from the dealership today.
They said for me to go to the Ford site and put in my order.
What a joke- Ford doesn't have the 7.3 option for the Mustang on their site.
Oh well no new cars for me.
