The T5 is a decent transmission for a small block street car, I ran one for years in my old high 12 second 302 street/strip Fairmont, but the basic design is just too small to stand up behind a healthy big block. Maybe if you only cruise around, but not if you want to run it hard at all. The gear teeth are tiny, and as Brent mentioned, the factory cases are pretty flimsy. I just wish somebody made a transmission that was strong and easy to powershift at WOT, but with an extra gear for overdrive.
