Would someone tell me what piston I have here is?

Asked on the 332-428 FEForum and no reply.
It's in an EDC block that seems to be cast in 1958. It's a rebuilder block I bought about 25 years ago and just stored it,

Pistons are L2116 and are +030. Bore measures at the top (no ridge) 4.015 and the piston at the top 3.985. Seems to be too small a bore for a 352 but did 332's  have  a smaller bore? Crank  measures a 3.50 stroke, So is this a 332 block with a 352 crank? Piston is barely below the deck.

You measured wrong place......Measure the piston 90 degrees from the pin

The only FE, that I know of, that has a smaller bore than 4", is the 330 truck engine @ 3.875.

The 4.015 bore diameter with a piston that is marked .030, is very different and I think the only thing that you can do now, is pull a piston and confirm the measurements and any casting numbers that the piston might have.

I believe the 78 marking, is a hold over from the early Ford era. The 1946 heads, were marked 59A. The 5 being the design date.

I was looking on Ebay for FE pistons, last night for a '58, 361 engine that I will get soon and found a set of NOS, Sterlings brand pistons for a 332, with no valve reliefs. They looked a lot like yours but, the front marking was the usual notch. The part # was 216P.
