Jim Gonia Passes?

Yike! Anybody here know when or how? I don't think he has posted here, but he did on the N54 forum. I found out on Fedyk's channel.

 I have seen that video a bunch of times. Nice car. I didnt know him but he didnt look that old in the video, how did he die. Anyway its a shame.

Okay..  Before the speculation gets out of hand, Jim passed away 3 months ago. He was in good health and had recently been inducted into the hall of fame for his training of retriever dogs. He was 69 years old and one of my best friends as is his wife. I'm not going to go into a memorial service here other to say the world lost a good man, great Dog trainer and awesome Drag Racer when he had the time. Cause of death was called "natural" which means nothing out of the ordinary was found.

My belated condolences to his wife, who I assume is the lady in all his videos (which I've enjoyed watching many times). A wheel standing 8 second, 8000+ rpm FE is not something you see every day. Losing a good friend always sucks, and the FE community obviously lost a good racer.

Side story. In my late teens I had a friend a couple years younger than me named Steve Canino whose father was a locally known dog trainer. The giggle here was that "Canino" is Italian for canine. Go figure. So his dad had an F-truck with a 390, and wanted to spiff it up with an alloy intake. "No problem", I said, never having worked on an FE before. I mean, I was a hot shot with a 289 winder, sure it was no problem. Right. I don't have to tell you the rest. Surprised I ever touched an FE again, but hey no leaks!
