finally got the 427 back into the 68..Huge rotisserie job on the car.
Engine is a 65 427 that's .017 over.Bottom end is still std.Engine was rebuilt in 88 when I first installed it.Now has Edelbrock 427 heads that I switched to 16 bolt exhaust and installed stock sized 427 valves..
Too much work to sit here and type out..Owned the car since 77.
Car has 3 pedals...

You had me at "427" and "three pedals" :)
I know you've been working on the car for some time now. It really is going to be a beauty, and I can't wait to see it done. You're at the "fun" stage, IMO.

It’s what we live for.
Beautiful car. Not to much better than a mustang with a big ole bullet.

Is the trans behind the mill right now? If you can install the engine/trans combo with all those components hanging off the front of it and with the car on the floor I’m going to cry foul. That is not an option with my Fairlane. 

Whose motor mounts are those and what’s is the deal -e-o with that timing pointer?

Engine was installed with out the trans or bellhousing..Engine mounts along with all the other aluminum and stainless stuff is my work.Timing pointer is something I came up with as the PSE timing cover has no holes in the face of it.There was another issue with it but I don't remember what it was...

Don't often post story's about what I do but.....I have one of Jays manifolds and I have a Edelbrock air-gap on top of it.It sits about 1 1/4 higher than the C7-F (I think) I used to have. My linkage is much steeper and my airbox  is way to high...Came up with a plan yesterday as I want my air box back on,the scoop is functional...I took a old drop center base and flattened out the lip,cut the center out of my air box.Drilled the base for 3/16 rivets .Some layout,rivets and right stuff and my air box is back where it was.Coasting just above the dist cap.Air box is ceramic coated and it did not affect the cutting or drilling.Filter is 4" tall....Cory.

Looks good!  I did pretty much the same thing with the air cleaner on my 68 Mustang with the intake adapter and the Edelbrock Torker.  I used a Ford Performance drop-base air cleaner with a 3" filter.  However, the car has a flat, turn-signal hood, and the air cleaner nut would just barely rub on the hood, so I ended up going with one of those triangular Edelbrock air cleaners that I modified to lower it slightly.  I don't like that one as much, but there aren't any clearance issues with it.  I may try to put a CJ style hood scoop on the car at some point, which would allow me to build a box like yours and use the Ford air cleaner.  Thanks for the pictures, they give me some good ideas...

Hey Jay...I run the std hood (no signals) and use a Cougar Eliminator/CJ scoop..Early 70's Comet GT also used that scoop...

That's some thick metal for the box. Did you end up modifying the linkage? I assume you're talking about mechanical linkage, and not a cable? I had that issue on my old F250 when I put a taller intake on it. Trying to lengthen the firewall rod wasn't going to work because that changed the ratio pretty drastically, to the point it would have been like a hair trigger when you stepped on the accelerator. I ended up just living with the goofy look of having it off angle. Never caused any problems, just thought it looked odd.

Hey Doug...the air box is made from 3/16 aluminum and tig welded together.I made it around 15 years ago.My throttle linkage is mechanical.I have a rod with rod ends..Geometry isn't to bad.Its just pointed up hill.I will leave the bellcrank alone.I don't need a hair trigger throttle....
