Looks good! I did pretty much the same thing with the air cleaner on my 68 Mustang with the intake adapter and the Edelbrock Torker. I used a Ford Performance drop-base air cleaner with a 3" filter. However, the car has a flat, turn-signal hood, and the air cleaner nut would just barely rub on the hood, so I ended up going with one of those triangular Edelbrock air cleaners that I modified to lower it slightly. I don't like that one as much, but there aren't any clearance issues with it. I may try to put a CJ style hood scoop on the car at some point, which would allow me to build a box like yours and use the Ford air cleaner. Thanks for the pictures, they give me some good ideas...
