I was going to buy into a powder coating system, but after researching, I figured I'd just let the professionals do it. For those here that know me, you already know how anal I am about products looking and working their best.

To those who don't, I built a 1966 Ford 427 Shelby Cobra in 2001 and I'm building it's third 428 FE engine, along with a new Trans, clutch etc.

I'm a professional (retired now) auto body, paint and car builder. Back then I painted everything,....so after only a handful of years some engine, suspension parts were needing repainted, and even more so today. The only part I had powder coating was the frame, and it still looks great, so I wish I had a lot more coated as well. We even stopped painting our sprint car frame to have it powder coated, and even after 7 years of beating on it, it still looks good.

So, I contacted the best known coatings company, Jet-Hot. My headers looked very sad, dirty and stained after 20 years. I thought for sure, I'd have to build new ones, but they said to send them in and wow, what a difference.

They are ceramic coated and I love'em.

I had a few "Group Buy's" years ago, so as happy as I am with my headers I thought I'd start another one for powder and ceramic coating's.

The deal is, call my saleswoman below, mention my name and you'll receive 10% off, with lifetime warranty,...and free return shipping.

Regards,
Kevin Gilmore

Does this apply to other products other than Shelby headers?  I have a bunch of FE parts that I need to get coated in the next several weeks....

Out of curiosity, what did it set you back to have them spruce up your headers? I’ve had a set of “ceramic” hookers on the car for 10 years, they’re rusty as hell.  Those look great.

Thank you very much for considering us fellow FE-ers and sharing the discount information. I have a couple of race-only collectors (never coated) that I want try for evaluating a four-into-one vs. merged design. There is an upcoming dyno day scheduled so my plan is the have these coated just in case they show promise, they are ready to go.

You can coat pretty much anything that can survive the baking temps. I used Jet-Hot for years for headers, intakes, etc. There's a place local to me that I've used for a while that also does a lot of internal coatings, but if he's really busy I'll sometimes still use Jet-Hot.

I never gave much credit to the stuff other than keeping things pretty but one of the first times I messed with coatings I dyno'd an engine before and after and picked up some power with the Jet-Hot coating.

Used to race a diesel at the salt flats and always had to keep the truck idling or it wouldn't start for the return run because the crowns would be melted so badly. Long story of trying stuff, some of which helped, but we never got more than 2 passes out of a set of pistons. Tried ceramic coating them and they'd last an entire year.

After those 2 events I'm not just coating stuff for looks anymore, the stuff works.

Do you have any pictures of a JetHot coated intake?  I have been considering it for the headers, intake, timing cover, and valve covers just for consistency.  I've heard it can stain from oil/gas and that's why some people advise against it for some components.  Not to hijack the thread (since it's still on-topic and maybe it can help others too), but do you have an opinion on this?

I had my turbo headers for my 334 JetHot coated and they turned out amazing.

I do have a pic of an FE intake that's coated. I'll upload them later tonight. It's from a local vendor and not Jet-Hot, but it's a similar coating. Most of the outfits doing this buy the coating powders from one of a handful of manufacturers.

This intake is ceramic coated. It's not as shiney as chrome or polishing, but this intake had a couple spots that weren't perfect and if I was going to polish or chrome it I would probably shove some filler in it with the tig and do some (a lot) of sanding.

The project didn't warrant that much effort. I didn't have enough paint to finish it, I didn't want to leave it bear aluminum, and the ceramic also helps stop corrosion in the water passages, etc.

Hey guys, so sorry I haven't responded, been sick for a long time and I'm not getting updates in my email ?

CV355, yes,it's for any part.

666Liter, with the time I spend with my Group Buys, most the time I get products free of charge. But, I need to sell a agreed number of units first.
Years ago I sold several Dannmar Max Jax two post lifts, so I received mine free, only paing shipping. Then I sold a couple more after the sale, so they sent me a telescoping oil change container, ATV/motorcycle adapter and nice aluminum oil rack.

Be sure to send me a PM when you make your order and any before and after photo's of your products.

Mine came back already, look great.  Haven't been able to install them yet as there is no engine in the car, but soon!

I sent an old pair of 4-into-1 collectors and they are due to be returned 7/10. The CoVid "home incarceration" delayed my shipping but there was no problems with pricing even though the original estimate was back in Mar.. This is simply a 40+ year old pair of collectors which happen to fit my current size primary pipes and I wanted to compare them on the dyno to the, more modern, merged style. "If", they exhibit improvement then I wanted them coated and ready to install. Thanks for offering the help with discount.
