Goodbye to Windsor. Ready for strokes 428. Top loader stays, 4.56 spool will stay. Ladder bars will get upgraded.

Welcome to the big leagues  ;D ;D

And hits a homer first time at bat! Nice car, and a stick to boot. Should add a bit of torque over that Windsor!

I’m considering purchasing components from Open Tracker Racing to rebuild my front end, I don’t want to cut the car up. Are they the hot ticket for fixing stock type parts?

I really like the quality of these parts and their heavy duty compared to stock, put this kit in on my 66 Fairlane with a 520 Fe.  http://www.streetortrack.com/Street-or-Track-Tubular-Front-End-System-pr-24480.html

I highly recommend open tracker rollerized front suspension parts for the 66/7 fairlanes.
used those parts on both my R-code and my drag car, greatly improved traction/ weight transfer

+1 what the other guys said. I went with Global West tubular lower control arms, Opentracker roller spring perches, Opentracker roller bearing conversion for upper control arms, made my own adjustable strut rods with heim joints, tubular tie rod adjusting sleeves, Opentracker lower control arm camber lock-out kit, and also a must do is the "Shelby" drop for upper control arms. All you have to do is re-drill the upper control arm holes 1" lower than factory. I also went with Calvert 90/10 shocks and of course, ditched the sway bar.

Jet hot shipped my headers this week, let’s hope I didn’t make a mistake getting electric blue. It’s either going to be, wow those are incredible or wholly crap why would you ever do that? My tunnel wedge got the satin silver, just so it never stains.

295/65/15, measures 30.3 tall and 10.6 wide. Hopefully enough, but I am getting help from this F.E. Guy in Tennessee, I heard he can break tires loose.

I mounted them up on a 15x8 steely. I don’t think it’s going to work, Im thinking those need a 15x10. They’re 12 inches at the section width now.

thanks for the reply.yep, for the tires to work right you may need a 15x9 or 15x10.i have the 296-55-15 drag radials on my 64 fairlane with 15x9 wheels and i have some room for the bigger tire if i need it,thats why i asked.

What 15x9 rim do you have? Was it a custom order?

Been trying to sell an aftermarket chevy block, for quite some time. Ended up trading that and pistons for a new in box Moser 35 spline aluminum 3rd member. 4.29 ratio on a spool. Also a set of brand new 35 spline axles.  I narrowed my housing 1 1/2” I can now finish my mini-tub without gutting my savings account to add strength. I guess a little patience landed me where I needed to be.
