460 vs 427 motor mount location
« on: January 28, 2019, 08:37:19 AM »
Are the ford 460 and 427 motor mount locations the same?  The length x width x height motor dimensions I have found online are very close.  I have an aftermarket set up with shock tower delete for a 427 in a 67 Cougar but now considering switching to a 460 build instead.

A friend of mine put a 460 in a '69 Mustang that was originally a 390 car. From what I remember, all he had to do was use the stock 460 block mounts, and they bolted right up to the lower FE mounts. Not sure what year/style block mounts he used though.
