'67 Mustang value advice
« on: October 21, 2018, 01:20:42 PM »
VIN is 7R01C100686, breaks down to a 1967 hardtop with the lo-po 289 2V auto trans built in San Hose California.  Car is sitting in a barn (of course) on concrete an appears to be solid without digging in too deep (bottoms of fenders, rockers doors and quarters all there).  Lousy red repaint peeling off of the original medium blue metallic, black interior.  Looks to be a complete car.  Clearly a restorable piece but in need of just about everything from the look of it, hasn't been run or moved in over 30 years.

This valuation is needed for estate inheritance for a good friend's family.  I know this is precious little info but I was hoping mustang folks would be able to ballpark it for me.  Input appreciated.

Check Haggarty and such, but looking at the sales posted maybe $5K~6K for raw material.  Most decent clean #2ish 66~68 units seem to sell for close to what our 2017 Escape cost - 18~20K.  We are about to sell a 70 roller, decent, typical rust spots in the door corners, ex-race car.  I'll ask $4500 for that, saw one on DFW race swap page that looks worse asking $5500.

Also, search through Facebook Marketplace - a great variation of Mustangs in different conditions.

Thanks for the input, seems like it's going to come down to the typical value which is "what someone will give you for it".  I was thinking around 5K so that seems safe.  Similar drivers I saw were 13 to 16K, so it seems right to me.  They're probably gonna need an appraisal anyway-
