SCJ PARTS VALUE
« on: September 18, 2018, 09:48:49 AM »
Bought a 1972 standard bore cx scratch block with ribbed sides.  I know the block is not worth a lot.  Still had a c6 attached to it. Owner said came out of 67 f100 12 or 15 years ago.  It has c6-R heads. 1964 c5ae9425c intake, truck oil adapter. As I was tearing it down I notice it having a hatchet spacer on front. After taking oil pan off verified Lemans crank and rods.  Wondering if any value to anyone.  If so,  thinking of keeping bock and building 406.  Just going in my 66 truck.  Or these so old not in demand, also has scj balancer ?   THANKS

This is a 428 block, I assume?  The block doesn't have as much value as a passenger car block, but at standard bore its still worth some money, I sold quite a few of them at standard bore from irrigation engines at around $900 each.  Not sure what the rest of the stuff is worth, but an SCJ reciprocating assembly ought to be worth something.

By the way, I moved your post here because questions about the value of parts are supposed to go in the Classifieds section.  Thanks, Jay

You might look at your transmission .If it has the correct cast iron tail shaft housing most likely you have a cj c6 .Somebody restoring a cj would love a correct cj c6 for their restoration .Check the servo for a R also . Good luck on your rare find .Doug

The 1UA crank, LeMans rods and big balancer w/hatchet are definitely valuable.  Plus or minus $1500 total for all if in good shape.  Less if the crank has been turned a bunch or the hatchet drilled to death.  Post it on the CJ Forum if you want to sell and see what happens.
