Aha. I was in the private sector in the west end of C. Park, and we had ceremonies for Kindergarten, 8th and 12th grades. My home "track" was Fallbrook Ave (which we called Fallbrook International Raceway). My test track was Woodlake Ave between Victory and Vanowen, which the city so graciously repaved when I was 17 so I could get better traction. I lived one block west of there.

Ahhh memorys of reading about Van nuys boulevard in
Swedish Car magazines dreaming of one day go there.
And having a car like the ones i the pictures.....
Had a few cars like that but never got to VNB before it was over

I was going to direct you to the 1979 movie "Van Nuys Blvd" which used to be on YouTube in its entirety. It was filmed on location and is so dead-on it makes me cry. However, it seems that the YT a-holes have removed it, as with so many others, so we can have the privilege of paying. I may have saved it a few years ago. Not sure.

What happened, Heo, is we became dinosaurs. According to the Net, there is again cruising on VNB, one Wednesday night a month. I can only imagine what it looks like now. Yecch. An infamous author wrote a story about a night there back then, hoisted onto the Net a few years ago. I cannot find that anymore, either. Probably on my other hard drive.

Yes i saw that movie when it came out in Sweden
Imagine seeing thath movie living here where you could
have to tow the car beacuse of to narrow mudflaps.
Or more than 15 mm over stock trackwidth.  and take it
to tec inspection to be able to drive it....
The VNB seemed like heaven on earth
The result of that was to have the widest tires and rims you could find
you got towed any way so why not do it properly

I read some cool stories about VNB on Hamb a few years ago by a guy

I saw somewhere that wild cherry filmed on a trailer on its way to a

We liked Mason and Winnetka as they were closed off by the railroad. Winnetka had a nice little curve in the shut down area that the fast cars had to worry about.
Remember north VNB up in Arleta after Wed cruise? Everyone that chose off during the cruise would meet there to settle.

I talked with a guy a few years ago that have a 69 gt 500 convertibel
he bought 76-77 was like a new car. He put on fiberglass fenderflares
and painted it red candy made a new crushed velvet interior....He regret
that today

I raced Winnetka a lot. What were you running? Maybe we bumped heads there. I also ran at the VA hospital, Burbank Blvd in two spots, and at L.A. Valley College in Van Nuys after initial meetups behind the BofA on VNB. I also went over the western border to Thousand Oaks in the south and Simi Valley in the north. Ran on the 118 freeway while it was still under construction. But yeah under the bridge in San Fernando! Many others. This spanned my Mustang, Olds 442 (still have it), '67 Cyclone, CHP Polara, and whatever else. Big Willy and the Brotherhood would visit our turf occasionally, but I was not to be found down in their areas. No way.

I would have to consider myself and my cars to be second-tier at best. I was young and really didn't have money or space to get into things big time.
