question on head porting
« on: February 09, 2018, 12:48:01 AM »
I just bought a good '67 390 engine and  want to do some light exhaust port cleanup on a set of C7AE-A heads. The gob of metal to the side of the port looks like it relates to the spark plug hole and it's threads. Can I blend this in to the port without finding air first?

A quality valve job and blending the throat and guide boss a little will net you 90% of the gains you'll see in that ex port. You can smooth that bump but you can't get rid of it.
