Urgent request help!
« on: November 27, 2017, 05:47:18 PM »
I need to know where I can get a flex plate spacer for a 427 fe motor. This is what one looks like. Or do I even need one?  <a href="https://imgur.com/rCzHwIJ"><img src="https://i.imgur.com/rCzHwIJ.jpg" title="source: imgur.com" /></a>

Second question? What mini high torque starter would you buy for the same motor that is going into a 1964 ford falcon? My mechanic is ready to go but now he is waiting on me. Thank You!

I can't really tell what that is in your picture? Or what it does? Where are you getting the info that you need it?

Thanks for your reply but I made a mistake and took a picture that goes with a different motor so please disregard. I also just ordered the powermaster high torque mini starter from summit. I would like to know what electric water pump is best for my application and do I need adapters or should I order the ones jay has fabricated? Thanks again.

You might want to refresh our memory on your project and your goals to give the best answer, however I'll give a general response - there are a couple brands of electric water pumps on the market for FE's, like the Meziere, however they don't have anywhere to bolt on the original style FE alternator brackets or power steering pump bracket and you will have to fabricate something yourself, Jay's water pump adapters have versions that allow you to use an original Ford bracket. Otherwise, no you don't need an adapter for the other brand pumps just to bolt them to a FE. One other plus with Jay's adapters is they allow the use of a higher flow 55 gph CVR pump, which can be helpful if you are using this on the street, the other brands of FE electric water pumps are lower flow, although not generally an issue if just used for drag racing.

Thanks for your answer. The following is the application with the 482 going into a 1964 ford falcon. I posted this on the members project section. I ordered the following starter.

The only problem is with the headers, however my mechanic is very smart and knows how to fabricate, i.e cut and weld headers to fit. Today I brought him over the c6 to be put in i.e mocked up. And what about the electric water pump, what should I get and do I need adapters? Thanks!

Here's a better photo.

Can someone give me the exact model number of the cvr electric water pump @55gpm and which company sells it. I searched summit, cvr and other sites but could not find it. Thank You!

They have them at Summit, you have to search "CVS 8000" even though it's CVR brand. Called Proflo Extreme. They come in Clear ( natural aluminum ) and 3 colors.

Also, you will need the inlet fitting that screws into the pump body too. Click on this link to the instructions for Jay's FE Power adapters and you will see all the info for the part numbers and also a couple possible hoses that may work.

I want to first thank you cat for your help because I am not that familar with part numbers etc when it comes to engines. For instance, notice it says bl after the number 8000, I don't know what that means Is the following the right electric water pump?  Thanks again! https://www.summitracing.com/parts/cvs-8000bl

The letters after the 8000 part number are for the different colors - BL for blue, BK for black, R for red and CL for clear ( natural aluminum ).

Actually I realized that about an hour after I posted. Is this the right electric water pump? If it is then please tell me what # of jay's adapters should I order? I do not have power steering nor am I using any serpenteen belts. I will just have the alternator belt and bracket. Thanks again.
