445 in a 67 Fastback
« on: November 01, 2021, 01:55:33 PM »
Finally getting started on a 445 stroker for my 67 Mustang.
Picked up an older (2 bolt motor mount) Mercury 390 & c6 at Carlisle a couple years back. Had the usual inspection/machine work done to the block and after a clean bill of health, began collecting parts.
I'm not new to the world but I am new to the forum. I'll need plenty of advice along the way. Seems I am in the right place and in good hands though. Thanks in advance and thanks for looking.
State of the car so far:
Survivor level sheet metal & interior.
New MII coilover IFS and various unibody, floor pan & torque box work
Street/strip build C6 & 3.70 rear (9")
26" tires
Power steering
Manual disks

Project goals:
Ornery street motor in a driver that will carry me along swift n' true all 33 miles of my back road commute.
10.33:1 compression with what I have so far.
Waiting for 72cc Performer RPM heads & Performer RMP intake. I'll reach out to the tech section for help on picking a pump gas friendly cam.
And here's hoping the pic went through.

Welcome
Hmmm FE in a ‘67 might be the most perfect thing in the world. This from a ‘66 owner.
You’re definitely in the right place. Lots of ‘em here.
Congrats and let the header/plug cussing begin. :D

Judging by his choice of front suspension the car will be getting the shock tower delete option....

As Marc told me one day.... The world needs more big block Mustangs running the roads.
