Hi,

I'm new to the forum and also new to the Ford FE engine.  I have a 390 in a 65 TBird, and just had the heads re-worked (valve job and minor surface mill).  I also installed a Comp Cams 268H cam k kit with new springs and lifters.

The existing pushrods are stock length and too long now, and I purchased a comp cams pushrod length checking tool with 5/16" ends, not realizing/noticing that the original pushrods have 3/8" ball/ball ends.  After performing the pre-load check for measuring pushrod length, I determined that -.060 pushrods will work fine.

My question is......can 5/16" ball-end pushrods be used with the stock non-adjustable rocker arms?  Concerned that 5/16" ball ends might "move around" too much in the rocker arm seat and cause issues.  I have a set of comp cams pushrods which are 9.560", but they have 5/16" ends, not 3/8" like the originals.

Thanks
