A few pics from local cruise and show

The Pontiac 6 cyl at the end was in a Firebird! Never knew they existed. The mural on the panel van (XB Falcon) was interesting. Car movies on 1 side and sci-fi on the other.

Those early OHC sixes were notorious for shedding the rubber belt drive. Pal's bro had one and one day it slipped the cogs and bent some valves. Apparently the cogged belt technology was way behind today's time and much longer lived belting.

Cool pictures, thanks, fun to see. Pontiac really tried to push those OHC-6's back in the day, I remember quite a few full page ads in the car magazines as a kid. But it was a tough sell in the musclecar era. I can just imagine the teasing you would have received pulling into the drive-in on a  Saturday night when all the other guys had a 426, 427,429 or 440 lol.

I had a 69 Firebird with the OHC 6, it was neat to look at, quadrajet and the big alum valve cover, but it wasn't very strong LOL

That car ended up with a 400, TH350 and 3.73s.  Always wondered if I screwed up a rare car, but I don't think they ever had much of a following, just an odd duck kind of car

Awesome cars!
But those license plate don't look like what we see around here. Where was the show located?
