Piston weights...

I'm curious what some modern pistons weigh, mainly for standard bore 427, or 4.23 bore sizes. I know they can get much lighter with custom milling and short skirts for race engines, but would 623 grams be considered medium or heavy weight for your average custom forged piston? I know it's a little vague with so many choices, but I'm just looking for generalities at that bore vs. weight.

Tad heavy.

I had a set of JE pistons made for a 427 that used 6.800 rods and they weighed 540g.  1.460 compression height, .990" pin, .043/.043/3mm ring pack.

These are 1.775 compression height with .975 pins (smaller pins=more aluminum) which would probably account for a good part of the extra weight, so maybe not so far off for a stock type set-up. Thanks, Brent.

Just curious if these were flat-tops for a low-riser style head?

They were flat top 11.5 to 1  for a 427 with 428 crank I dont have any othwer specifics like what size pins or anything I would have to look through old reciepts, and yes they were for a 63 lowriser head
