So we have to change the gear to a steel gear.
First I have to fix my Dizzy. The pickup failed!
An open pickup.

What a good pickup should read.

The cast gear.

It pops right off with my cheapo 3 arm yanker.

The new steel gear. It has a pretty good burr in it that must be removed, BUT you do not want
to stick a file in there. The hole is the same size as the shaft so there is very little press.

I used a small burr on the die grinder and removed the offending burr.

So this picture shows the gear at the proper 3.045" which is the distance the work sheet calls for
in the kit you get when you order the gear. The hole is only drilled on one side and it does not
line up with the hole drilled in the shaft. hmmm...

So I did some figgering and drilled a new hole in the gear to match the cast gear I took off.
The gears are the same size so it should line right up. It should. lol

Hey look at that it lined right up.
The gear is exactly at the required 3.045" called for and I did not have to drill another hole in the shaft.
Which I did not want to do.

Ready to go in the Fairlane.
I'm getting real close to lighting the fire.
