RPM Intake Manifold Distributor Hole Diameter Variance?
« on: January 17, 2012, 12:47:15 AM »
Has anyone noticed the distributor hole in their Edelbrock RPM intake seems a bit large?  I've always had sealing problems here, it just seems the hole is a bit too large.  The rubber gasket on the distributor does make contact all the way around, but not very snugly and I always have had vapors and oil show up here.  It does not look modified, the casting looks pretty factory.  I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed this on theirs?  How would I go about making a better seal?  Get a ring machined to tighten it up by an 1/16th or 1/8th or double stack the rubber gaskets somehow?

It may be the doughnut.
I have seen a few different styles over the years.
Good question though.
Jay has a truck load of intakes to compare the hole. ;D
I do have NIB RPM I could check.
