I have a set of the Pond MR aluminium heads, though I haven't run them yet. I have the as cast ports and intend using them on a street cruiser 427 stroker. The set I bought were complete with 2.25"/1.72" valves and springs/retainers to suit a 0.650" lift hyd roller cam. On initial inspection, they appear to be good quality. The ports have been cleaned up in some areas, mainly around the bowls and port entrances. The chambers are patterned on the factory MR chamber and I was told they are 88cc's, though I haven't measured them yet. The flow data I was given on them are as follows:
Lift Intake Exhaust
0.100 80 62
0.200 167 124
0.300 236 168
0.400 272 201
0.500 296 233
0.600 305 249
0.700 315 256
0.800 315 261
These figures as at 28", and I haven't actually flowed them myself, these are the figures I was given with them. The main reason I chose to use these heads is they they externally look very much like factory heads. With a coat of black paint and a set of baldy valve covers on top, they will pass for factory heads at a casual glance.
