I was wondering if anyone has first hand knowledge of these fine looking
427 Ford SK-35369 redo's.
Does he produce them himself or ?
Not that I could rush out and scoop up a set, but you can always dream.

Pretty sure that Robert makes those himself.  He used to contract with Edelbrock to get the heads that he sells manufactured, but he wanted to make some changes that they weren't willing to make, so at the 2009 PRI show he told me that he was going to start manufacturing them himself.  Of course he already manufactures his own blocks, so the cylinder heads weren't something that was outside the scope of what he is doing now.

I have a set of the Pond MR aluminium heads, though I haven't run them yet. I have the as cast ports and intend using them on a street cruiser 427 stroker. The set I bought were complete with 2.25"/1.72" valves and springs/retainers to suit a 0.650" lift hyd roller cam. On initial inspection, they appear to be good quality. The ports have been cleaned up in some areas, mainly around the bowls and port entrances. The chambers are patterned on the factory MR chamber and I was told they are 88cc's, though I haven't measured them yet. The flow data I was given on them are as follows:

Lift       Intake       Exhaust
0.100     80              62
0.200    167            124
0.300    236            168
0.400    272            201
0.500    296            233
0.600    305            249
0.700    315            256
0.800    315            261

These figures as at 28", and I haven't actually flowed them myself, these are the figures I was given with them. The main reason I chose to use these heads is they they externally look very much like factory heads. With a coat of black paint and a set of baldy valve covers on top, they will pass for factory heads at a casual glance.

while the flow numbers are not as good as my big F heads, I am considering getting as set of these for my pond block to take advantage of the aluminum construction, and the stock appearance
Todd please post measured chamber volume if you can.
thanks, Dean

I just got back one of my heads from the shop where I had the chambers measured and the supplied springs checked. The chamber came out at 90cc. The supplied spring and retainer package was to suit the hyd roller cam that Robert pond uses with his 650hp engine package. The seat pressure was 155lbs and the pressure at 0.600" was 430lbs, at 0.700" was 480lbs. Coil bind at 0.830". So the springs should work fine with the hyd roller cam I have, a Barry R. custom 240/248 at 0.050", 0.632"/0.643" lift.
