Thanks Jay.  Wouldn't that have an impact though? In other words, if I bring my full curve in at 2600-2800, but a factory build would bring it in much higher (let's say 3500 - 4000), then the factory spec at cruise RPM wouldn't have the advance as a factor since full mechanical wasn't in.  So total timing across the RPM range in part and full throttle conditions wouldn't really exceed the Total timing.

In other words, what I'm worried about is, if I bring my Total timing in by 2600-2800 AND I have 10* of VA then I'm cruising at 50*+ of total timing where a factory build would not have the mechanical advance fully in by then so would be in more the 40* range.  So does it matter WHEN that 50* comes in?  Can it come in too soon?
