Visited the museum (and assembly line) a couple of years ago -- I'm not a 'Vette freak but enjoyed it just the same.  Came away with the impression that most of the museum cars are privately owned but on long-term loan.  Article says the cars in the hole are museum or GM property  -- still a shame but a big relief for the private owners I'm sure.

I had to giggle when I heard about that today. I still say a vette would make an excellent winter car. Just put knobby snow tires on all four corners and hit the snow and salt. The fiberglass body would never rot away. ;)  Later, Travis
