Visited the museum (and assembly line) a couple of years ago -- I'm not a 'Vette freak but enjoyed it just the same.  Came away with the impression that most of the museum cars are privately owned but on long-term loan.  Article says the cars in the hole are museum or GM property  -- still a shame but a big relief for the private owners I'm sure.

I had to giggle when I heard about that today. I still say a vette would make an excellent winter car. Just put knobby snow tires on all four corners and hit the snow and salt. The fiberglass body would never rot away.   Later, Travis
