Info On 63 Galaxie And Engine Value
« on: January 12, 2014, 03:20:48 PM »
Possible trade for a 63 4dr, 3sp manual non od, 390 4v and Thunderbird valve covers. I'm told grill and passenger door are missing but engine is complete. I dont really have the room to keep it but will if I can spread needed parts around and make a little cash. If factory would this engine be a solid lifter block and dual point distributor? I have not seen it yet and its not realistic for me to go and horse trade unless I can move it quickly. I'm trading $500 worth and would like to get that and time back.

I doubt its worth your time - If its an early motor it has 2 bolt mounts and no provision for an alternator - and prob has the early skinny rods too - the heads may be c1ae A heads prob worth $75 or so for the castings, same for the t-bird covers - prob got a non posi 9inch - how much can you scrap the husk for? do you have a trailer? don't know what your $500 worth of stuff is but this trade has bad idea written all over it....

I have read that about alt before. My only experience with pre 65 block is my 64 solid lifter block. Un drilled oil galleys, T bird valvecover and C4SE intake. I dont remember any issues with alternator. If it was any different I would still have the brackets. By 21 I went through 6 engines, multiple transmissions, couple of pumpkins and kept every thing that didnt have a hole in it. Thus all my junk on CL. What really sucks is now I know the C2SE exhaust ears could have been fixed and solid block could have been repaired.  >:(

That's what I was thinking. If it is what he says anyway. My concern is having a shell sitting around that I would rather send up north than crush it.

I did forget to mention he said it was the 330 hoarse. Other wise I think you have it pegged.
