1960 352 drilled for new cam plate

I have a 1960 352 Im going to put in a solid cam and new chain, and was told it would have a button and spring. I got a new roller chain on the way and want to put in a cam plate instead of the button/spring. I have the cam plate/bolts, are the holes already countersunk in the block for the plate so I will just need to drill/tap? I haven't taken it apart yet as Im waiting on the chain to arrive before I tear it apart. I also want to use the original chrome timing cover and damper, is that a problem?

The lifter oil galley will provide the location for the top cam thrust plate hole.  The other hole will need to be drilled and tapped from scratch.  With the cam thrust plate located on the freshly tapped upper hole and centered with the camshaft, a transfer punch the size of the hole in the cam plate can be used to locate the lower hole.  Once you have the punch mark, the hole can be drilled and tapped appropriately.
