I immediately saw where they got the inspiration for this car:

On the bight side, looking through the pics it appears that it was probably a junker headed for the scrapyard anyway.  No interior, no engine, rear bumper rusted through, missing headlights etc.  Would be a pretty safe bet to say the thing is pretty rusted out and probably has some pretty mangled panels hiding under all that "art".  I think it looks horrible too, but at least I don't think the guy used anything that anyone else would have ever restored, and I bet he got it cheap so there was nothing to lose by playing around.  Drew might be almost right about the crushed can being an inspiration, except maybe the can in this case started out about the size of a car.

On the other hand, What the hell was that dude smoking?? hahah

To test my theory I sat down on a stool in the shop, loaded my music player of choice with "blonde on blonde" and proceeded to drink a pile of yuengling lagers  :o  After a good number of them I noticed one of the crushed cans looked somewhat appealing in the dim light.  The thought didn't come to do that to a car, but I was close.  I will resume testing in about 30 minutes....

Drew, hope you have some, ahem..."protection"..... if you start getting really close to that beer can! Yah now, those beers cans always look prettier at closing time.

LOL!
