There was a 209 inch version of the Buick V6 that was quite popular for a while. I believe they were 850ish HP at 50 inches of boost and ran a single stage scavenge pump. They had a crank scraper and some baffles to run the the oil to a "central" scavenge chamber.  I think the 209" version was to meet Indy specs. I could be completely wrong too.

Sounds like a Stage II Buick V6.  Snatch it up, find a mid 80's Camaro, drop it in and embarrass the heck out of all the 350 fanboys.  Stage II's have been known to make ridiculous (1500+ HP) power with the right turbo and 2+ HP/ci in NA form is also quite doable.

i forgot to mention she let me have everything for 400 dollars and there is enough spare parts to build another one- extra crank new in bag, spare block in a bag and a big crate with a set of pistons heads and every thing else needed to build a second engine, plus main engine is new on a stand ready to drop in a car, too good to pass up even if i dont need it.

Yes those Buick V6's are stout!  At the end of my time at Ford, I spent some time at McLaren Engines on 8-Mile Road.  They had built all of the Grand National GNX engines for Buick, and those things were practically un-killable!

I just fell into a great deal on another non-FE favorite from that era.  I've always wanted a 3.0L SHO V6, and one just appeared this week for 150 bucks!  It's complete with about 60K miles.  I'm going to tear into it in the next few weeks to see what it needs, then start thinking about a good vehicle.  Fox body maybe??  Even if it ends up being a coffee table, you can't go wrong for 150 bucks  :D

Escort would probably be a tough fit.  You know… a Merkur XR4Ti would be really cool!  That’s almost as light and is already rear wheel drive.  You just don’t see those anymore 😀

Re:  Chevy Busch Series engine.  Those are pretty cool as well!  It would be something to see one of those on the street.

One of the last projects Don Sullivan worked on at Ford was the Ford 4.5L Busch Series V6.  It made well over 400 HP and was quite reliable.  I remember seeing the old man in the EMDO building with prototype engines.  Good times!

if i keep the v6 i may find a s10 already set up for this engine, mounts and all are on the little v6,looks like a 750 or 850 double pumper on it and a msd dist,my neighbor built stout engines,i remember hearing the race car start up when i was a boy,you could hear it for miles away. harry gant drove one of his cars one time at bristol and harry told my neighbor that his car ran as good as anyone there but harry said it needed to be set up,it was hard to handle. my neighbors were the applegates, butch,Alan, and there dad bill.they raced mostly short tracks like kingsport, but every year they would go to bristol to try and qualify, they didnt run up front much, but they were just average guys racing on the weekend.

You’re thinking of the Shogun.  A California company built about 7 of them using a Kia-built Ford Festiva as the base.  They took the entire Taurus SHO front subframe, with engine and transmission, and shoved it into the back of the Festiva.  The result is pretty wild!
