6090 N heads worth

There’s a set of C80E 6090 N heads for sale pretty close to my house.  The seller says they’re absolutely original.  I find that hard to believe. Let’s pretend they’re unaltered from Ford.  I don’t need them for a restoration, but I like old Ford stuff. The fella wants $2,000.  I probably would not pay that.  I don’t like asking this kind of question, but what do you think is fair, assuming they’re as described?

The date codes and obviously the condition set the value. If these are not desirable dates and good condition somewhere around or under $1500. If they are early 68 dates and good condition his $2000 is not out of question.

If you're going to spend $2000 on heads go ahead and buy a set of Edelbrock RPM heads. I've ran a set of those for about 10 years and they are a performance head.

Those heads might be worth that if they were pertinent to the original, first 135 CJ cars.  After that, not so much.  They certainly could be unmolested originals.  They have value to collectors and restorers.  Maybe closer to $1,200 if they are in very good condition.  Any flaws, like corrosion, needing a valve job or other machining, then the price keeps falling.  The problem is the market for them dried up once the aftermarket started cranking out Medium Riser alloy heads.

The 135 cars were built before N heads, they had C8AE-J heads

Just a quick interjection....

If you're going to spend $2000 on a set of aftermarket heads, quickly bypass Edelbrock and head toward something like a Trick Flow head.  I would no longer consider an unported Edelbrock head a performance head and if you compare intake flow data, the Edelbrock isn't that far off from a CJ head at all.

thats a little in mho.unless they have new aftermarket valves,guides,seats,etc!any work they made need will ad at least $1,000 to the cost.
