This one was a fun one one to build, less fun to dyno (only because of the weather giving us a 99 degree dyno cell for the second engine, a spring change and a new valve spring compressor that was made incorrectly.  It turned out to be a sweaty but uneventful afternoon)

It was originally planned to be a 429 inch, custom cam, Trick Flow medium riser 2x4 with all the tricks.  However, the owner decided to keep it more true to form, and it became basically a blueprinted  pump gas 427 than can be driven anywhere,  All good and new parts, even the NOS Isky cam, but just a different approach, refreshing to do a mostly original one.  The nice thing is, even with a very streetable cam and compression,  it out performed Fords original rating.

This one would be a sweetheart in a street Galaxie rowing a 4 speed, I think the owner may sell ultimtely though, trying to thin his herd of very nice cars and engines

Great build!! With only changing to a 428 crank and everything else staying the same what power increase would you expect to see?

Thanks Brian

IMHO the next area of improvement, without porting, would be the cam, 8 degrees of exhaust duration and increasing lift on both sides would have been beneficial on this or a stroker.  This Isky is a very nice running cam but it is old tech and doesn't take the head flow into account

The real benefit would be a head work or a better set of heads.  I have no doubt our original plan, TFS heads and a modern cam grind, would have gained over 100 HP with no changes to the rotating assembly, even more with cubes
